Live, Loud and a Little Ridiculous!
Never shy about being on the mic, B.P. plans to return to his roots as a radio host and entertainer on Backyard Rock. While the show he hosted twice a week on the former Rock 98.9 won't carry the same name, it will still be just as silly as it was before! Be on the lookout for some occasional drop-ins from the boss as we get ready for our Labor Day Launch.
Same Edge, New Direction
Our focus is still on the music, but we're also making room for sports on a national and local level. B.P.'s recent experience with sports media in the Jacksonville area has shown that local athletes need just as much support as local musicians. Combining these two passions into one station will be the goal as Backyard Rock materializes.
The Message Is In The Music
We're a hybrid secular and Christian Rock station with a mission to "Meet People Where They Are" and wherever they are. We offer an invitation to hear the Gospel message with no pressure or fear of rejection or negative reaction. We do like heavy music though, and some of it is pretty awesome on both sides! We choose to play tracks that have a minimal amount of coarse language and try to stay away from songs with excessive use of explicit lyrics or subject matter. We do so to foster a positive and uplifting environment that welcomes Christians, Seekers, and Non-Believers to taste and see what life like is on the other side of the pain and agony of being lost and alone in a world that cares little.
But we know that light shines brighter in the dark. Whether your a follower of Jesus, if you're not, or if you're just wandering the internet aimlessly, there's music, community, fun and laughter here. If you want to hear great rock, WELCOME! If you want to know more about our faith and about Jesus Christ, WELCOME! Just want to sit and listen? WELCOME!
